[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Mobis announced on the 27th that it will develop an integrated controller for vehicle object communication (V2X) based on fifth-generation mobile communication (5G) with Israel's telecommunications semiconductor design company 'Autotics'.

Hyundai Mobis introduced that Autotalks was recently acquired by Qualcomm in recognition of having the industry's best capabilities in V2X semiconductor design. Hyundai Motor also made a strategic investment in Autotox in 2018.

The 5G-based V2X integrated controller developed by Hyundai Mobis in collaboration with Autotox can deliver large-capacity and real-time information between vehicles and facilities, unlike the current Long Term Evolution (LTE·4 Generation Mobile Communication) method. It is a core technology of 'four stages of autonomous driving', which means full autonomous driving.

Hyundai Mobis plans to lead the autonomous driving market with a new telematics product that combines V2X technology following the development of '5G communication module technology for vehicles' last year.

Hyundai Mobis will start developing technologies to meet the latest specifications of 5G-based V2X international standards in the second half of the year and conduct marketing activities such as product briefing sessions for global customers from next year.
