Former lawmaker Kim Dong-chul, who served as a lawmaker, is said to be the next president.
According to related government ministries on the 27th, the Public Institution Steering Committee of the Ministry of Economy and Finance held a meeting on the 25th and approved a bill to recommend multiple candidates, including former lawmaker Kim, for the next KEPCO president.
Based on this, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy recommends a presidential candidate to KEPCO. The Ministry of Industry is said to be planning to recommend a single candidate for the next president.
KEPCO, which has been recommended as a candidate by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, will appoint its next president after a board meeting and an extraordinary shareholders' meeting. It will then take steps to be appointed by the president at the recommendation of the industry minister.
