[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hana Securities has been confirmed to be in the process of selling three regional power plants acquired from SK E&S in the past.

According to the financial investment industry on the 30th, Hana Securities recently selected Samjeong KPMG, an accounting firm, as an advisor to the sale and is looking for three acquisition candidates: Pyeongtaek Energy Service, Gimcheon Energy Service and Jeonbuk Group Energy.

The industry expects this sale price to be over 1 trillion won,

"The target of the sale is a local power plant with monopolistic status, and we understand that the price calculated according to the multiple, which is usually applied by related industries, is around 1 trillion won," said an official at Hana Securities Co.

"We expect the sale by the end of this year, but it can vary depending on market conditions," he added.

Earlier in late 2014, Hana Securities (then Hana Investment & Securities) signed a stock trading contract with SK E&S to take over shares and management rights of three power plants in question as a package.

The acquisition was conducted through Hana Securities' private equity fund (PEF) "Hana Power Infrastructure No. 1 private equity investment company."

At that time, the assets of the three power plants were about 1.2 trillion won, and the actual equity transaction was about 500 billion won.
