[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Starting in March next year, the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Game Industry Promotion Act, which includes specific ways to display and regulate random box information, which is mandatory for game companies to disclose, is nearing its end.
According to the game industry on the 30th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will conclude discussions on a "public-private consultative body for rational institutionalization of random box information disclosure" as early as next month and announce a revision to the Enforcement Decree of the Game Industry Act.
Pre-announcement of legislation is a procedure to collect opinions from all walks of life by informing the public of the contents of the legislation, amendment, and abolition process. The period is more than 40 days.
After a revision to the Game Industry Act, which requires game companies to display paid probabilistic items and probability information on games, homepages, and advertisements, passed the National Assembly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched a public-private consultative body in March and has been discussing the revision of the enforcement ordinance.
After the enforcement ordinance is passed, the Korea Game Industry Association is expected to create a manual on how to comply with regulations and distribute it to each member company before March next year when the grace period for the enforcement of the revised Game Industry Act ends.
