[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] CJ Foodville, which runs bakery shop Tous Les Jours, announced on the 5th that it recently decided to build a factory in the United States and finally selected Georgia as the site in the southeastern United States.

CJ Foodville plans to invest more than 50 billion won in about 90,000㎡ of land and start construction of its production plant within the year.

Georgia is expected to expand its business as it has excellent market accessibility across the U.S. and forms an industrial complex with more than 330 global manufacturing and food companies. On top of that, the fact that the state minister was active in attracting factories, including a visit to CJ Foodville, also affected the decision.

CJ Foodville, which entered the U.S. with Tous Les Jours in 2004, started its franchise business in 2009 and became the first overseas subsidiary of CJ Foodville to turn into a surplus in 2018. Since then, it has been in the black for five consecutive years until last year.

The company currently operates 100 stores in 26 states, including Los Angeles, New York, and New Jersey. The goal is to increase the number of stores in the United States to 120 within this year and expand more than 1,000 by 2030. In addition, we plan to send more experienced employees to the United States and other foreign countries to develop them into global experts.
