[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Coupang founded entertainment management company "CP Entertainment."
Coupang announced on the 4th that it established CP Entertainment to expand its entertainment business and content business in earnest and signed an exclusive contract with comedian Shin Dong-yup.
Choi Jong-wook, former managing director of SM C&C, was appointed as CEO of CP Entertainment. Shin and Choi are known to be colleagues who have worked together for 17 years.
The industry said that various synergies are expected, such as Coupang Play, an online video service (OTT) that Coupang provides to its own Wow membership users, and the production of entertainment programs.
