[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] LG Electronics succeeded in sending and receiving the world's longest-range radio transmission in the 6th generation (G) terahertz (THz) band wireless data transmission test.

LG Electronics announced on the 26th that it succeeded in transmitting and receiving 500m of outdoor data in a wireless data transmission test, which was recently assigned a test frequency around LG Science Park in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

The test was conducted jointly with LG Uplus in Magok LG Science Park, Seoul, for two weeks from November 11 to 25. Last year, the two companies succeeded in sending and receiving outdoor 6G wireless at the Fraunhofer Heinrich - Hertz Institute in Berlin, Germany, which raised the level further in a year.

LG Electronics established 'LG Electronics-KAIST 6G Research Center', a 6G industry-academic cooperation research center with KAIST for the first time in Korea in 2019.

Next month, it will co-host the LG 6G Tech Fest’ event with LG Uplus to announce various 6G communication technology development achievements.
