[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Korea Exchange will work with the Chicago Option Exchange (Cboe) to showcase a joint option selling strategy index. It is the first derivative strategy index developed jointly by the exchange with a global institution.

The exchange said on the 26th that it will announce two types of "KRX Cboe KOSPI 200 call selling index" and "KRX Cboe KOSPI 200 put selling index" on the 4th of next month. The two indexes are strategic indexes that sell KOSPI 200 call options or put options every month while investing in KOSPI 200 or CD rates.

In April, the exchange signed an index joint development contract with Cboe to upgrade its investment strategy in the local exchange-traded product (ETP) market. It developed an option strategy index as the market uncertainty has recently increased and the sideways market is expected.

"The index is the first derivative strategy index developed by the exchange in cooperation with global institutions," said Kim Ki-kyung, vice chairman of the Korea Exchange. "We expect it to contribute to the development of the related ETP market and revitalizing transactions."
