[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Fair Trade Commission has completed its investigation into private education companies and has begun the sanctions process in earnest.

The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) announced on the 4th that it has confirmed nine private education companies' alleged violations of the law while disclosing the progress of private education unfair advertising cases.

The Fair Trade Commission sent out a review report (like a prosecution indictment), which is said to be targeted at five academies, including Megastudy and SDiJ, and four publishers, including the Sangsang Korean Language Institute.

This means that unfair advertising was rampant around large private institutes and publishers. The FTC plans to hold a review within this year to determine whether to impose sanctions and the level of sanctions.
