[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The Fair Trade Commission has launched an investigation into allegations of unfair support for GS Group's owner family companies.

According to the industry on the 13th, the Fair Trade Commission conducted an on-site investigation at GS Caltex's headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and secured transaction data with Samyang International.

Samyang International is a company with a 90% or more stake in GS Group's owner family.

The FTC is investigating whether GS Caltex paid the "traffic tax" by inserting Samyang International, which has no role in signing a contract with an overseas client.

In addition to Samyang International, it will also look into whether there have been any additional unfair support activities within the group to drive the company's profits to the owner family.

An official of the FTC said, "We can not confirm the investigation and contents of individual cases."
