[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu was the only one among the nation's top five financial holding companies to be selected as a witness to the parliamentary audit.

On the 17th, the National Assembly's National Policy Committee additionally decided to call 12 people, including KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu, as witnesses to the comprehensive inspection of the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service on the 27th.

The National Policy Committee held a plenary session later in the day and adopted 12 more witnesses and one witness, including KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu and Korea Investment & Securities CEO Chung Il-moon.

Chairman Yoon is scheduled to answer questions on poor internal control, including embezzlement, excessive margin income and governance structure on the 27th.

During the parliamentary inspection of the Financial Services Commission held on the 11th and the Financial Supervisory Service held on the 17th, the chairmen of the five major financial holding companies were absent from witnesses to the parliamentary inspection, citing their attendance at the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).

However, only Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu was called to the general inspection of the financial authorities and became the only chairman of the financial holding company to attend the inspection this year.

Chung Jong-pyo, CEO of DB Insurance, Lee Sung-jae, CEO of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, Kim Kyung-bae, CEO of HMM, and Schindler Holdings will also take the stand on the same day.
