[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Ecopro celebrated its 25th anniversary on the 22nd.
Ecopro, which took its first step as one employee at its 10-pyeong office in Seocho-dong, Seoul, currently employs 3,500 people and has grown into a global anode material company with sales of 9 trillion won.
Under former EcoPro Chairman Lee Dong-chae's management goal to "create a company that employs 10,000 people," the company plans to seek internal and qualitative growth by developing materials, upgrading recycling technology and improving systems for global management.
Ecopro said on the 23rd that it held a ceremony including a commendation for outstanding and long-term employees at its headquarters in Ochang, North Chungcheong Province, on the 20th to mark the 25th anniversary of its foundation.
After supplying battery anode materials to Sony in Japan in 2013, EcoPro has secured Samsung SDI and SK On as major customers and is recognized for its technology in the global market.
In particular, Ecopro is leading the way in revitalizing the local economy. Ecopro, which started its business headquartered in Ochang, North Chungcheong Province, has expanded its scope to Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, and is building production bases overseas such as Hungary and Canada this year.
