Shinhan Financial Group purchases and cancels an additional KRW 100 billion of treasury stock

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Shinhan Financial Group is purchasing and canceling treasury stocks worth 100 billion won to improve shareholder value.

Shinhan Financial Group (055550) held a board meeting on this day and decided to acquire and cancel treasury stocks. Shinhan Financial Group plans to conduct stock purchases on the market from the 26th to January 25th of next year.

The consignment investment was made by its subsidiary Shinhan Investment & Securities Co. The number of shares to be acquired is 2,857,142 shares, which is about 100 billion won based on the closing price on the 24th. The actual number of shares acquired and the amount of acquisition may change depending on future stock price fluctuations.

Shinhan Financial Group acquired and then canceled 150 billion won, 150 billion won, and 100 billion won of treasury stocks in March, June, and August of this year, respectively. Shinhan Financial Group also announced that it would pay a quarterly dividend of 525 won per share. The total dividend amount is 270.6 billion won.
