[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Two casualties occurred when an aerial work platform collapsed at the IS Dongseo Icheon factory, which manufactures concrete.
According to industry sources on the 27th, employees A (50s) and B (50s) were working on a workbench about 5 meters high at the IS Dongseo plant in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, at around 2:10 p.m. The workbench lost balance and fell sideways, and both A and B fell to the floor.
A was taken to a hospital with a cardiac arrest but died, and the other was seriously injured, including an arm fracture, and is being treated.
Police are investigating on-site officials to see if they comply with safety rules. The police plan to charge those responsible for the accident with professional negligence resulting in death.
