[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Electronics said it recorded sales of 20.7094 trillion won and operating profit of 996.7 billion won in the third quarter of this year. Operating profit increased by 33.5% from the same period last year, and sales decreased by 2.2%.
The H&A business headquarters, which is in charge of household appliances, recorded sales of 7.4574 trillion won and operating profit of 504.5 billion won. The company explained that although it increased the input of marketing resources ahead of the peak season at the end of the year, its competitiveness in production, purchase, and logistics led to high profitability.
The operating profit of the battlefield (VS) division reached a record high of 134.9 billion won in the third quarter. Sales are 2.5035 trillion won, the largest in the third quarter. LG Electronics expects its electronics business to exceed 10 trillion won in annual sales for the first time this year.
LG Electronics plans to accelerate its business portfolio conversion in the fourth quarter. It will expand sales of major products entering the peak season at the end of the year and continue to grow in sales by continuing high growth of B2B with the battlefield business at the forefront.
