[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Lee Joon-hyuk, vice chairman of Dongjin Semichem, has been recognized by business scholars as a world-class entrepreneur in Korea.

The Korea Business Association is the largest academic organization in Korea, founded in 1956, and holds academic conferences and the Hall of Fame dedication ceremony every fall. This event was held at Lotte Hotel on the 27th.

Starting this year, it has been changed to the "Korea World Class Entrepreneurs Awards," which awards entrepreneurs who have performed the best evaluations and outstanding performances at home and abroad among members of the World Class Business Association. If awards ceremonies have been held for companies that have been leading domestic and foreign industries for more than 40 years, it is meaningful that they are paying attention to "world-class companies" that are considered a premium corporate group of small and medium-sized companies that now have the will and potential to grow into global companies.

Lee Joon-hyuk, CEO of Dongjin Semichem, who was selected as the first winner this time, won the grand prize in recognition of his efforts and efforts to localize semiconductor material equipment in Korea.

Dongjin Semichem has grown into a domestic company specializing in precision chemical materials such as semiconductors and displays since its foundation in 1967. In particular, the company has succeeded in localizing the photoresist for semiconductors for the fourth time in the world and the first time in Korea in 1989, starting with the project of paper for semiconductors.

The display business, which mostly relied on the original technology of chemical materials on Japanese and global companies, started in 1991 and succeeded in localizing photoresists and strippers for the liquid crystal display (LCD) process.
