[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hong Jung-kook, the second-generation owner of BGF Group and president of ㈜ BGF, was promoted to ㈜ BGF CEO and vice chairman of BGF Retail.
The BGF Group held a board meeting on the 2nd and announced that Hong Jung-kook, CEO of the holding company ㈜BGF, has been promoted to Vice President of BGF and Vice Chairman of BGF Retail.
The new vice chairman Hong Jung-kook is the eldest son of BGF Group Chairman Hong Seok-jo. After joining BGF Group in 2013, he served as head of strategic planning and management strategy division. He was promoted to vice president of BGF Retail in October 2017 and was named CEO of BGF in October 2019. He was later promoted to ㈜BGF president in November 2020 and promoted to vice chairman in three years.
Vice Chairman Hong Jung-kook has focused on finding a new growth base for the group as a whole and strengthening global capabilities through successful overseas expansion of convenience store CU. With the latest personnel reshuffle, the company will actively foster the group's new growth engines while strengthening the competitiveness of its trend-sensitive CVS (convenience store) business and strengthening responsible management of its major affiliates.
