[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Department Store Group conducted regular executive appointments to replace representatives of key affiliates such as Hyundai Department Store, Hyundai Home Shopping and Hyundai L&C.
Industry sources say that Hyundai Department Store Group, which switched to a single holding company system in September, will transform its department store, which used to run under a three-member representative system, into a representative system of two group owners, Chairman Chung Ji-sun and professional CEO Chung Ji-young, in order to focus on its original role in the distribution business.
Jang Ho-jin, president of Hyundai Department Store, is likely to move to Hyundai GF Holdings.
On the 2nd, Hyundai Department Store Group carried out regular executive appointments for a total of 40 people, including one president and one vice president, 17 promotions and 23 telegrams.
Jung Ji-young, vice president of Hyundai Department Store, was promoted to a regular executive position at Hyundai Department Store Group 2024 and appointed as the new CEO. Han Kwang-young, vice president of Hyundai Home Shopping, and Chung Baek-jae, executive director of Hyundai L&C, were also included in the promotion and appointed as new CEOs of each company.
As a result, Hyundai Department Store CEO Kim Hyung-jong and Hyundai Home Shopping CEO Lim Dae-kyu, who served until March next year, resigned. In the case of Kim Hyung-jong, he served as CEO of Hansum (8 years) and Hyundai Department Store (4 years) for a total of 12 years.
Hyundai Land F Holdings will hold a shareholders' meeting on the 8th of next month to vote on the appointment of Chairman Chung Ji-sun, Vice Chairman Chung Kyo-sun and Hyundai Department Store Group Planning and Coordination Division President Jang Ho-jin as in-house directors.
