[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KEPCO Engineering & Construction(KEPCO-ENC) has won an order for Indonesia's gas engine power generation project worth 60 billion won.
It is expected that Southeast Asian gas engine power generation markets will enter into full swing.
KEPCO-ENC Technology announced on the 12th that it signed a contract with Indonesia Electric Power Corporation (PLN) to build two 30MW gas engine power plants in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 10th.
The total project cost of this project ordered by PLN is 124 billion won. By the first half of 2025, power plants will be completed in Sumbawa and Tobelo areas in eastern Indonesia and power production will begin.
KEPCO-ENC Technology performs the core tasks of this project, such as ▷ purchasing and transportation ▷ business management support. Indonesian construction company PT Adhi Karya is in charge of purchasing and constructing auxiliary equipment.
Gas engine power plants have low carbon emissions, so they are eco-friendly and can operate flexibly with only small facilities.
In addition, due to the relatively short construction air, it is considered the best power generation portfolio in Indonesia's power generation market, where gas infrastructure construction is active recently.
KEPCO-ENC Technology has set Southeast Asia, where demand for electricity is growing significantly along with economic growth, as a strategic area for exporting eco-friendly power plants.
In this regard, various efforts have been made to enter the Southeast Asian market by establishing an Indonesian branch.
Korea Electric Power Corporation expects the success of orders for the gas engine power generation project to accelerate orders for new power generation facilities from all parts of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia.
