[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Even after the ban on short selling, there were up to tens of billions of won in short selling transactions in major secondary battery stocks, the report showed.

According to Koscom on the 12th, the cumulative public sale of Ecoprobm from the 6th to the 9th, when the public sale was completely banned, was estimated at 40.4 billion won. Secondary battery stocks, including EcoPro at 38.2 billion won, LG Energy Solutions at 14.4 billion won and POSCO Holdings at 13.8 billion won, were then listed at the top of the list of short-selling transactions. Celltrion Healthcare and Samsung SDI followed with 12.9 billion won and 12 billion won, respectively.

Looking at the market as a whole, the short stock selling amounted to hundreds of billions of won in four days. Since the ban on short selling, the securities market and KOSDAQ markets signed KRW 114.7 billion and KRW 284.4 billion, respectively, this month to Thursday (November 6-9).

During the same period last week (October 30-November 2), when short selling of KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150 stocks was possible, the stock market was KRW 2.2553 trillion and the KOSDAQ market was KRW 814.7 billion. Individual investors believe that the volume has decreased since the ban on short selling, but it is still not small.
