[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Shares of related companies are gaining ground early in the market on expectations that Apple will install OLED in its new iPad, the next-generation tablet PC, starting next year.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 20th, PH Tech is trading at 24,150 won, up 6.39% from the previous trading day.

PH Tech is a major OLED material supplier of LG Display. We have developed and supplied a number of materials such as high refractive CPL, blue host, and red host.

Hana Securities analyzed that PH Tech can expect a 15 billion won increase in new sales, considering LG Display's shipment of iPad OLED panels at 6 million units.

The use area of tablet OLED is about four to five times higher than that of Smartphones, so it is expected that it will be possible to increase sales of materials in proportion to the shipment area.

Apple will install OLED on iPad next year after installing OLED on iPhone in 2017. As the global smartphone market matures, new demands are created.

Like the iPhone, the iPad is also expected to expand its OLED coverage to Pro in the first year, Air in the following year, and later to general models. As a result, OLED-related companies are expected to have external growth opportunities over the next three to four years.

BH is also trading at 21,250 won as of 10:38 a.m., up 2.91% from the previous trading day. BH is the main supplier of OLED substrates on the iPhone.
