[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Naver Cloud, which previously opened the Middle East business by exporting digital twin platforms to major Saudi cities, announced on the 7th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saudi Arabia's Internet of Things (IoT) and smart city technology solution company "iot squared" for Saudi Digital Conversion (DX) collaboration.
iot squared is a joint venture co-founded by the STC Group, which leads Saudi Arabia's DX business, and the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund (PIF).
The two companies will use digital twin platforms to be built by Team Naver for urban planning, monitoring and simulation, and cooperate in various ways in building smart cities based on robotics and autonomous driving technologies. Furthermore, it plans to explore ways to utilize the digital twin platform in Saudi Arabia.
Chae Seon-joo, head of external affairs and ESG policy at Naver, said, "As the digital twin to be built in Saudi Arabia is scheduled to be built in the form of an open platform that will create synergy with partners, we will continue to expand cooperation with leading partners such as IoT Squared. "We will make various efforts to further raise the technological level of Saudi Arabia's cutting-edge smart city with Naver's technology," she added.
