[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Shin Myung-ho, former head of Yuanta Securities' Corporate Finance (IB) division, has been appointed as the new head of BNK Investment & Securities.

According to the financial investment industry on November 11, BNK Investment & Securities held an executive appointment through its subsidiary CEO Candidate Recommendation Committee on August 8. Former CEO Shin, former Daishin Management CEO Koo Hee-jin and BNK Investment & Securities internal chief Sung Kyung-sik interviewed, and eventually Shin was nominated.

Born in 1962, Shin served as head of Samsung Securities' corporate finance team, SK Securities' corporate finance headquarters, and Dongbu Securities' IB division coverage division before serving as head of Hana Financial Investment's IB division. From 2018 to the end of 2020, he served as the head of Yuanta Securities' IB division.

Kim Byung-young, who has led BNK Investment & Securities since 2019, failed to serve a second term. Analysts say that BNK Investment & Securities' performance has worsened since last year amid a recent wind of CEO replacement in the stock market. By the third quarter of this year, the cumulative net profit of BNK Investment & Securities was 20.3 billion won, down sharply from the same period last year (61.5 billion won). It also decreased significantly from 2021 (115.5 billion won).
