[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on November 11 that it held an Light Civil Helicopter (LCH) Yangsan 2 delivery ceremony at its headquarters in Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do on July 7.

LCH Yangsan Unit 2 will be delivered to Gloria Airlines following Unit 1. LCH 1, which was delivered at the end of last year, is on a mission with an emergency medical helicopter in Jeju. LCH 2 will be introduced as a reserve for unit 1.

LCH 2 is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment to enable first aid as well as transport of emergency patients, enabling the same mission as LCH Yangsan Unit 1. As a result, it is expected that immediate alternative missions will be possible if Unit 1 is not operated.

Along with the No. 1 reactor, LCH 2 is expected to strengthen its ability to respond to emergency accidents in areas with geographical restrictions such as islands and seas in Jeju.

The LCH is a 4.9-ton civilian helicopter designed and produced by KAI and Airbus Helicopters (AH) in accordance with European Aviation Administration (EASA) standards through an integrated civil and military helicopter development project jointly promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration. In addition to emergency medical services, it can be used for various purposes such as police, fire fighting, forest, tourism, etc.
