[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Seah Wind, a offshore wind sub-structure manufacturing company of Seah Steel Holdings, has won a large-scale order in the UK.

Seahwind said on the 14th that it will supply about KRW 1.49 trillion worth of XXL monofile substructures to the Norfolk Vanguard project, the world's largest offshore wind power generation project ordered by Swedish state-run power company Bartenpole.

The project, in which Sea Wind participates in the supply, is a project to create a large-scale offshore wind farm 47 kilometers off the southeastern coast of England. The total project power generation capacity is 2.8 gigawatts (GW), which will supply the daily power consumption needed for about 1.95 million households. Sea Wind will supply XXL-standard offshore wind monofile sub-structures with a maximum external diameter of 11 meters, weight of 2,250 tons and length of 95 meters sequentially by the end of 2027.

The monofile sub-structure product supplied by Sea Wind has the advantage of being resistant to corrosion, considering the characteristics of the high-flow North Sea region and its installation in the deep sea. It can also support the weight of a weight over a normal substructure. Globally, demand is expected to continue to increase in the trend of large-scale turbines and towers to increase offshore wind power generation efficiency.

Seahwind is the only supplier of offshore wind power monofile infrastructure in the UK, and is currently building a production plant on about 30,000 pyeong of land in the Tisside area in northeastern England. The goal is commercial production in the first half of 2025. SeAH Wind succeeded in winning the Norfolk Vanguard project following the order for the Honsi 3 project last year and secured production volume for three years after the completion of the plant.
